This superlative new CD contains 20 tracks, arranged according to
categories of "First Dances", "Parent
Dances", "Anniversary", and
"Ceremony Music". While the music on the CD is
appropriate for wedding celebrations, the CD can be listened to
for pure enjoyment. The performances by Julian and Fortune
Entertainment, with vocal solos by Julian Hernandez, Barbara
Merkle and Lou
Bernardi, are absolutely superb -- top notch all the way
through.
Featured on this CD are eight
totally new dazzling songs. Two were written for the traditional
mother/son dance, "Little Boy", and "A
Mother and Her Son"; one for father and daughter, "Darlin'
Little Girl"; a "mother" song called simply "Mother";
and a beautiful anniversary love song, "Happy Anniversary
(My Love)".
In
addition to the new songs, the CD features some standards that, at
least in a few cases, are hard to find on CD. One, for example, "If
You Say My Eyes Are Beautiful", is given a stunning
rendition by Julian Hernandez and Barbara Merkle.
Also to be found here is John Lennon's "Grow Old Along
With Me", Barry Manilow's "I Am Your Child", Robey/Washington's
"Pledging My Love" and much more.
The
last tracks include "Ceremony Music"; Pachelbel's
Canon, Vivaldi's "Spring", Clarke's Trumpet Voluntary and
the classic Wagner and Mendelssohn wedding marches.
Julian
and Fortune make up one of the foremost wedding orchestras
performing on the East coast, consisting of musicians with a
varied and extensive background in musical performance. The CD was
recorded, mixed and mastered in a state-of-the art studio and the
sound is first rate. The musical arrangements are distinctive and
original.
